On April 28, 2025, the faculty members of our department held an online meeting to strengthen academic activities, evaluate quality improvement processes, and plan for the upcoming period.

In the first part of the meeting, the topic of Double Major and Minor Programs was discussed. Plans for establishing double major and minor programs in the coming periods were considered. It was decided to initiate the necessary preparatory work and workflow processes to create these programs, which will contribute to enhancing the academic diversity of our students.

In the second part of the meeting, plans were made to organize a Student Symposium to support the academic productivity of our students. The symposium is intended to provide a platform where undergraduate students can present their original research, develop critical thinking skills, and strengthen their academic presentation abilities. Additionally, discussions were held regarding the Summer School program planned for the 2026 summer term. It was emphasized that priority should be given to opening applied and project-based courses during the summer school.

Another important agenda item was the Developments in the Quality Improvement Process. Progress made within the scope of the department's quality assurance efforts was reviewed, including updates to course syllabi, the revision of learning outcomes, and improvements to make assessment and evaluation processes more transparent and effective. Furthermore, new steps were discussed to more effectively integrate student feedback into quality processes.

In the final part of the meeting, future planning for the department’s academic activities was addressed. Proposals were shared for organizing seminars, workshops, and academic gatherings in the coming terms. It was also emphasized that increasing national and international academic collaborations should remain among the department’s primary objectives.
