As part of the Linguistics Talks Events organized by the Linguistics Department and the Linguistics Community of our university, on May 21, 2021, a lecturer from the Linguistics Department, Res. Ass. PhD Oktay Çınar gave an online talk titled 'Acquisition of Turkish as a Second Language at the Interfaces'.
In his speech, firstly explaining what the interface is, Dr. Oktay Çınar explained which linguistic modules can come together to combine interfaces and what studies are carried out on these interfaces. Then, the studies on the discourse-syntax interface were examined in detail and it was discussed whether the acquisition of this interface in Turkish as a second language was problematic or not.
At the end of the speech, questions from the audience were answered.
